The Heart of Racing and Guests Grab Second at Spa’s Wild 25 Hours of Fun Cup

Stavelot, Belgium (July 6, 2025) – A Volkswagen Beetle, 27 fearless passengers, five drivers, and 25 hours of nonstop racing around Spa-Francorchamps—The Heart of Racing made its mark at the iconic 25 Hours of Fun Cup with a second-place finish in the two-seater category.

Dubbed one of the quirkiest and most unforgettable races in the world, the 25 Hours of Fun Cup is far from ordinary—and so was the team’s journey. It’s the only race in the world that allows a passenger during competitive racing. Each year, team patron Gabe Newell, sends a group of about 50 guests to experience racing in the most up-close-and-personal way possible: in the passenger seat. Throughout the race, 27 guests strapped into the team’s No. 353 VW Beetle to experience world-class racing.

Marco Sørensen, Tom Gamble, Mattia Drudi, Hannah Grisham, and Hannah Greenemeier took on the challenge of racing twice around the clock. Drudi set the tone with a strong P2 qualifying performance on Friday, and Sørensen led the charge at Saturday’s green flag with dry conditions and the first guest co-pilot onboard. But by the time Grisham climbed in, the skies had opened—and they didn’t close again for the rest of the race.

The team powered through relentless rain and roughly 27 pit stops—swapping out guests every 40 minutes and rotating drivers every two to three stints. With strategy and stamina, the crew pushed their way into podium contention.

Come Sunday morning, the Beetle was flying in third. When a competitor ahead hit trouble, the Heart of Racing slipped into second—and never let it go.

The team will return to Spa’s unforgettable 25-hour showdown next year, ready for more rain, more laps, and more once-in-a-lifetime rides.
