The Heart of Racing Team Confirms Long Beach Driver Line-Up

(April 3, 2026) - The Heart of Racing Team has confirmed its driver line-up for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race taking place April 17–18 on the streets of Long Beach. 

With Tom Gamble committed to the team’s FIA World Endurance Championship campaign in the No. 007 Aston Martin Valkyrie, Spencer Pumpelly will join Eduardo “Dudu” Barrichello in the No. 27 Heart of Racing Aston Martin Vantage GTD entry for the Grand Prix of Long Beach.

Pumpelly returns to the team following previous outings in the No. 27 Vantage during the 2024 season at Long Beach, WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, and Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, where he secured a victory alongside Roman De Angelis.  

“It’s great to be back with the Heart of Racing,” said Pumpelly. “I’ve had success with this team in the past, and I’m looking forward to another good run. The atmosphere at Long Beach is always amazing, given the strong Southern California car culture and local support for the race. I’ll also have the chance to drive with Dudu, which is something I’m looking forward to. It should be a great weekend.”

The IMSA and WEC double-header weekend begins with the WEC Prologue at Imola on April 14, followed by race weekend action on Friday, with practice sessions for IMSA in Long Beach and WEC in Italy. The weekend presents a unique challenge for the team as it competes across two premier global championships simultaneously.
