The Heart of Racing set for IMSA Championship Finale at Road Atlanta
Braselton, GA (October 8, 2025) – The Heart of Racing Team is gearing up for one of the biggest races of the year: the IMSA WeatherTech Championship season finale at Motul Petit Le Mans. The 10-hour endurance classic at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta takes the green flag at 12:10pm ET on Saturday, October 11, with live coverage on NBC at noon.
All eyes will be on the No. 27 Heart of Racing Aston Martin Vantage GTD, which enters the finale sitting second in both the GTD Championship and the Michelin Endurance Cup standings. The squad of Casper Stevenson, Tom Gamble, and Zacharie Robichon has been a force this season, scoring three podiums in the last four endurance rounds, earning two Motul Pole Awards, and claiming victory at Watkins Glen in June. Stevenson also added his name to the record books last month with his first IMSA pole position at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
While Stevenson will make his Road Atlanta debut, his co-drivers bring a wealth of Petit Le Mans experience. Gamble raced at the track with THOR in 2022, narrowly missing the podium with a fourth-place finish, while Robichon has six Petit Le Mans starts under his belt, including a pair of podiums.
“We’re coming up on the end of the season,” said Robichon. “Our IMSA season will end with one of the most exciting races of the year. Petit Le Mans always brings out the best in everyone, and I’m sure this year will be no different. We’ve had a strong year, and although the overall championship may be just out of our grasp, we’ll look to see what can be done for the Endurance Cup Championship.”
“We had strong potential in the last round at Indy,” said Stevenson. “I’m hoping to carry this momentum into this weekend. The team was really strong here last year, so I think we have a great opportunity to end the year on a high note.”
Meanwhile, the Aston Martin THOR Valkyrie GTP team continues its development curve. The No. 23 Valkyrie, driven by Alex Riberas, Ross Gunn, and Roman De Angelis, aims to build on a strong showing at Indianapolis, where Gunn and De Angelis were running inside the top four before a late-race caution reshuffled the field. Their sister Valkyrie in the FIA World Endurance Championship recently earned a top-five at Fuji, further underscoring the program’s upward trend.
The trio has a history at Road Atlanta: De Angelis and Gunn won the GTD class there in 2021 alongside team principal Ian James. Last season, the same three drivers pushed their GTD PRO title fight to the wire, finishing third in the race and just four points shy of the championship.
“Petit Le Mans is one of the standout races of the IMSA season,” said Gunn. “We had some awesome races there in the past, winning in 2021 and taking the GTD PRO title fight down to the last few minutes last year. The progress with the Valkyrie in the last couple of races has been noticeable and is a testament to the hard work everyone has been putting in. I think we can keep that upward trajectory going at Road Atlanta and end the season on a high.”
“It’s an absolute pleasure to be back in IMSA and on the American side of Heart of Racing again,” said Riberas. “I’ve been following the evolution of the team throughout the year. It’s been very impressive to see from the outside how much the team has progressed. I think as a team we can do a really good job. It’s going to be a brutal ten-hour race, and there is always that extra level of tension because it’s the season finale. I’m very excited for it!”
